Indore: A 58-year-old woman and wife of a doctor was stabbed to death while her son received critical stab injuries when a man (patient) attacked them on Thursday morning.
The accused, who was arrested, told the police that he attacked them as the doctor failed to cure his skin ailments. However, police are investigating other aspects too.
The incident took place at Dr Ramkrishna Verma's clinic in Goma Ki Phel around 9.30 am. At the time of incident, Dr Verma was in Delhi to meet his daughter. His wife Lata Verma and son Abhishek were at home which doubles as clinic.
CSP, Central Kotwali BPS Parihar said that the accused identified as Rafique (40) of Rustam Ka Bagicha, was caught by local people while he was fleeing after the crime. He stabbed Lata and her son Abhishek, who came to her rescue, at the clinic.
Rafique told the police that he had been suffering from skin disease and was taking medication from Dr Verma for a month. He spent a lot of money to cure his ailment but the medicines and injections prescribed by Dr Verma didn't work.
He reached the clinic again to discuss the matter but the doctor didn't meet him which led to a heated argument with doctor's wife, Lata. The argument turned worse when the accused stabbed Lata thrice. Her son Abhishek was also stabbed when he came to her rescue.
The local residents said that accused Rafique had reached the clinic and left after talking with Lata. After 15 minutes, he reached again and stabbed them.
Lata's daughters-- Vinita and Barkha-- were not at home at the time of crime. Barkha said that she's employed in a company. She left for job around 8.45 am when no one was present in the clinic.
Around 9.30 am, her cousin Sushil reached her office to bring her home. She reached home when she came to know about the incident. Police said they are investigating other aspects too and statement of Dr Ramkrishna Verma will also be taken.
