Indore: Indoreans did not get any relief from intense heat wave on Sunday as mercury shot up and crossed 43 degrees Celsius, making daily courses tough for the citizens. The temperature recorded on Sunday was the second highest in 11 years in the month of April. T

he highest temperature 43.6 degrees Celsius was recorded on April 30, 2009. Hot winds multiplied the woes of Indoreans as the soaring temperature and blazing heat made it hard for them to move out in the afternoon. The weather conditions in Malwa region, which usually remain cooler than Nimar region, turned like Nimar as the temperature continues to increase.

According to Met Dept, heatwave will continue to sweep the state in coming days. Roads wore a deserted look as people kept themselves confined to indoors and only those who had emergency work moved out of their house or offices. The Health Dept has advised people not to move out from Noon to 3 pm if it is not an emergency.

Unlikely, denizens had to avoid weekend celebration and no rush was seen on roads even in the evening. According to Met officials, maximum temperature on Sunday was 43.4 degrees Celsius which was three degrees above the normal while the minimum temperature was 26 degrees Celsius which was 3 degrees above normal.

“Winds blowing from north-northwestern direction will take its toll on night temperature and heat waves coming from neighboring states can push the temperature up in the coming days,” weathermen said. Humidity recorded on Sunday morning was 16% and 08% in the evening.
