Indore: At least seven people in three cars were injured after a speeding truck hit their cars and a tanker carrying chemical near Luv Kush Square on Sunday evening.
The incident took place after leakage of acid from the tanker which had spread on the road. A heavy smoke clouded the road.
The incident took place around 5.30 pm. A tanker containing chemical was moving towards city from Super Corridor. The tanker stopped on the signal at Luv Kush Square.
Ramchandra Nagar resident Vaishali lodged a complaint that she was in her car behind the tanker when a truck hit her car. Her car rammed the tanker due to which chemical from tanker started leaking.
It was raining at the time of the incident so acide reacted with water and heavy smoke covered the road. Meanwhile, two other cars coming from behind rammed the stranded car. People sitting in the cars were injured in the accident.
One of the cars was damaged badly. The injured were identified as Nitendra, his 6-year-old son, his wife and sister-in-law. In other cars injured were identified as Sambhav of Anjani Nagar, Samyak and Sapna. They were rushed to a hospital by the people.
According to Banganga police station incharge Indramani Patel, the injured were out of danger and undergoing treatment in a private hospital. A case was registered against the truck driver and further investigation was underway.
