Indore: An elderly woman was critically injured after a truck hit her while taking a turn on Bapat Square on Tuesday evening. Woman’s legs came under the wheel of truck. The accident happened during ongoing Road Safety Week observed by traffic police.
Hira Nagar police station incharge Rajeev Singh Bhadoriya said the incident took place at 6 pm. Woman identified as Kamlabai (60) was crossing the road when a truck taking a turn from rotary hit her. She is undergoing treatment in a hospital and is not in condition to give statement.
Police have registered a case against errant driver and seized the truck from the spot. Road safety week, which began on February 4 will conclude on February 10. During the week, police department is organising awareness programmes to check road accidents.
