Indore: Range Rover driver couldn’t pay Rs 500, sent home to get money

Indore: A Range Rover driver was sent back home by Road Transport Officers to bring Rs 500 to pay fine for putting wrong number plate on the vehicle. The driver was stopped at Vijay Nagar Square on Tuesday. The registration number of vehicle was 0001 but it depicted only 1 on the number plate.

When fined, he couldn’t pay Rs 500. ARTO Nisha Chouhan said a drive was launched against vehicles plying with wrong number plate and with hooters installed. As many as 29 vehicles were fined for violating the norms and the number plate and hooters were removed immediately. “The drive will continue for next few days. We will seize vehicles if caught for second time,” she added.
