Indore: In an unprecedented move, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) may entrust responsibility of conducting common entrance test (CET) on Vyapam, which hogged national headlines over MPPMT and recruitment scams in 2013.
A proposal to this regard is likely to be tabled during executive council meeting to be held on Thursday. Some EC members signaled that they may propose to outsource CET to Vyapam during meeting on Thursday. But academics of DAVV are against any such proposal.
“In the first place, what is the need for outsourcing the CET which is conducted for admission in professional courses offered by university teaching department? Have we become so incompetent that we can’t hold even an entrance test? Outsourcing CET would mean that some irregularity might have taken previously. This move will put a question mark on the DAVV’s credibility,” a senior professor said wishing anonymity.
Another professor said that the DAVV which dreams of figuring into top universities of the world but it is having a capacity to hold its own entrance test. The head rotation issue is also likely to be raised during the EC meeting which is called for approving budget for fiscal 2017-18. A budget of Rs 225 crore is likely to be presented before the EC for its nod. Apart from this a probe report on review result goof-up is also be tabled.
