Indore: A professor of a private college was killed while his colleague got injured after a truck hit them under Lasudia police station jurisdiction on Friday. They were going to college when the accident took place. Investigating officer Rajkumar Shukla said the deceased was identified as Nikhilesh Singh Thakur (29), a resident of Scheme Number 114 of the city. He was a professor in a private college on Sanwer Road.

He, along with colleague Anuj Pandey, was going to college on a bike. Anuj was riding the bike when a recklessly driven truck hit their bike on MR-11 Road. Anuj fell on other side of road while Nikhilesh came under the wheels of the monster vehicle. Even as the trucker managed to flee initially, the cops later arrested him. Nikhilesh was critically hurt and was rushed to the hospital but he could not be saved. Preliminary investigation revealed that Nikhilesh hailed from Khanjanpura in Betul and was staying in a rented accommodation in the city for few years.
