Indore: Principal secretary (urban development) Pramod Agrawal here on Sunday had lunch at trenching ground which has been recently “freed” from several lakhs of tonnes of garbage gathered over the years. Agrawal visited the city to see how the cleanest city is setting new benchmarks under Swachh Bharat Mission. His toured the city to have first-hand experience of how the garbage management system of Indore works. He first went to Nyaya Nagar where he saw how IMC vehicle collect wet and dry garbage segregated at source. They then went to Star Square to see transfer station. There after he went to Choithram mandi and saw bio-gas plant. The PS also visited trenching ground and had lunch with municipal commissioner Asheeh Singh. Nearly 15 lakh tonnes of garbage was lying at the ground about six month ago. In six month, all the garbage was treated with scientific method. The PS stated that Indore is a role model and other cities of the state should learn from the cleanest city of the country. The PS also inspected the newly constructed Jawahar Marg bridge.
