Indore: Students of Prestige Institute of Law gave a miss to academic activities on Thursday and staged a demonstration on the campus seeking facilities promised to them at the time of admission.

The college management accepted some of the demands of the students during the protest itself.  Demanding for long facilities promised at the time of admission, students on Thursday skipped the classes and staged a demonstration against the college management.

Prestige Institute (UG campus) director RK Sharma talked to the protesting students and assured that all their genuine demands would be met but the students did not give up protest.

They told Sharma that the college lacks competent faculty and infrastructure. First of all the college does not have number of faculty as prescribed in Bar Council of India norms. “Whatever faculty members the college has also do not take classes regularly,” the students alleged.

The students stated that the college has not setup moot court also till date. When Sharma asked the students to lodge complaint about the same with the senior director Yogeshwari Phatak, the students showed SMSes to Sharma sent by them to her.

“We sent many complaints on SMSes to her but she asks us in return not to text her,” they said. Later, Sharma accepted some of the demands of the students on the spot after which the protest ended. He also assured the students of fulfilling all the BCI norms.
