Indore: Candidates preparing for state service examination (SSE)-2019 are living in fear that model code of conduct may delay the exam. “In its exam calendar for 2019, Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) had stated that it would release notification for the SSE in January and hold preliminarily exam tentatively in April. But as the MPPSC has not even released the notification till date it is unlikely the exam would be held in April,” Abhay Mishra, a government job aspirant preparing for the exam said.
He stated that the Election Commission of India is likely to imposed model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections in second week of March. “If the exam process is not announced before that, the poll code will defer the process at least for four months,” another candidate stated. On February 14, several candidates had staged a demonstration outside MPPSC office protesting over delay in announcement of exams. An officer of MPPSC stated that there are some issues which are to be settled with government. Once the issues are resolved, the exams dates would be announced, he added.
