Indore: Two policemen during their night patrolling rescued a three-year-old boy from the clutches of abductor in Tukoganj police station area in the wee hours of Tuesday. The boy was sleeping with his mother when he was abducted by a man who was later arrested by the police.
Tukoganj police station incharge Tehzeeb Kazi said the incident took place near Vallabh Nagar. Two policemen named Dharam Singh and Kamal Kishore were patrolling the area when they spotted a man with a child under Rajkumar Bridge. The accused tried to flee after seeing policemen but he was caught.
The accused identified as 35-year-old Vijay of Pancham ki Phel was in an inebriated state. He didn’t say anything about the child after which policemen informed senior officials and sent the accused to police station. Later, policemen started searching for parents of child when they spotted a woman searching for his son on New Dewas Road.
Policemen stopped near her when she identified the child as her son. After verification, police handed the child over to his mother. She told policemen that she is from Bihar and was dropped in the city by one of her relatives three days ago. Since then, she was staying under the bridge. The accused tried to abduct her son two days ago but fled when she raised an alarm.
On Tuesday at 3 am, she woke up and found her child missing. Police said accused had possibly abducted child with bad intention. Further investigation is underway. Accused told police his wife stays separately. The police have registered a case against accused on complaint of victim’s mother.
