Indore: Local police held a meeting with 70 medical store owners and chemists in Banganga and told them to sell medicines only after doctors prescribe them. The meeting was aimed to save youth from the drug addiction and to curb crime committed by people under the influence of drugs like nitravet.

The meeting was held at Banganga police station premises on Tuesday night on the instruction of Senior Superintendent of Police Ruchi Vardhan Mishra as part of social policing.

Banganga police station incharge Indramani Patel called the meeting of 70 medical store owners of the area. He told medical store owners not to sell the regulated drugs to anyone without prescription of doctors. He also asked them to provide information about suspects who sell or buy drugs to police immediately so that police can take action against them before they commit crime.

The medical store owners were told to install CCTVs at their shops. They were told that if any store owner will be found selling drugs without doctors’ prescription, police will take action against him
