Indore: Newly posted Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ruchi Vardhan Mishra took charge of office here on Tuesday. While interacting with mediapersons, SSP Mishra said city residents should feel the presence of police. For this, beat system will be introduced and cops will be deployed on streets.

“Presence of officers on streets is necessary and steps will be taken to ensure safety of residents. Controlling the crime in city is our first priority,” she added. Talking about her biggest challenge, Mishra said Indore is metropolitan city with vast population where many people from nearby regions have settled.

“A good police team is already deployed in the city and we will face all the challenges.” She said city’s traffic management is also a big challenge for which necessary steps will be taken. SSP Ruchi Vardhan Mishra’s husband and Ujjain collector Shashank Mishra was also present while she assumed charge of her office.
