Indore: Paid leave for pvt sector staff on vote days

Good news for people working in private sector. Labors of the state working in the private sectors will get a day’s paid leave on voting day. Employers are mandatory to follow the instruction.  Labour Commissioner Ashutosh Awasthi has issued orders in this regard on Thursday.  This will be applicable in all parliamentary seats of the state where elections have to be conducted in certain phases.

According to the said schedule, on April 29, the workers will get paid leave due to polling day in Parliamentary Constituency Sidhi, Shahdol, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara. Similarly, on May 6, workers will get paid leave in Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad and Betul.

On May 12, workers in Parliamentary Areas Gwalior, Murane, Bhind, Sagar, Guna, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh will be eligible for paid leave and on 19th May, the workers of Parliamentary Areas Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa also be eligible to have the leave.

In the light of the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Election Officer Madhya Pradesh from time to time and as per provision of section 135-B of the People’s Representation Act, 1951, on the polling day the all the private establishments, firms and industrial units will have to offer paid leave to their workers and employees. There are provisions of penalties against the employers who do not follow the instruction of the ECI, ECO MP and the Act.

Training of Presiding officers from April 18
The timely training programme of officers and staff involved in the election is being done by the election office. Additional Collector Kailash Wankhede informed that the presiding officer of the polling party of Lok Sabha Elections-and the polling officer No. 1 (P1) will be conducted on 18, 20, 21 and 22 April and the officers and employees of the whole party of voting Training will be conducted on May 6, 8, 9 and 10.  Both the training will be held at Government AB Vajpayee Arts and Commerce College and Holkar College.

Meeting for easy voting of Divyanga today
Collector Lokesh Kumar Jatava convened a meeting of district level standing committee on easy voting for Divyangas at Collectorate at 11:00 am on Friday. All Assistant Returning officers will attend the meeting. The issues on how to conduct easy polling for such voters will be discussed. District Education Officer, Executive Engineer of PWD, Deputy Commissioner of Indore Municipal Corporation SK Sinha, SVEEP Icon Vikram Agnihotri, Gyanendra Purohit of Ananda Seva Society, Development Officer of Mahesh Drashtihin Kalyan Sangha Dolly Joshi, Programme Coordinator NSS and NCC are invited in the meeting.
