Indore: Overjoyed family welcomes boy in arms

Indore: Thirty nine hours after his abduction, six-year-old boy Akshat Jain who was abducted on Sunday afternoon from Prime City Colony met his family members on Tuesday morning. Akshat’s family members who spent sleepless nights on Sunday and Monday were more than happy to meet him.

On early Tuesday morning, as Tukoganj police station in-charge Tehzeeb Qazi handed over Akshat to his family, their happiness knew no bounds. Akshta’s father Rohit and mother Shilpa cried their hearts out while hugging him. The neighbours and local residents who were eagerly waiting for Akshat reached their house with sweets and ‘aarti thali’ to celebrate his safe return.

Akshat spent some time with his grandparents and parents after which he said he was tired and wanted to sleep. While interacting with mediapersons, Rohit said after receiving the ransom call the family was shattered and scared. “But police and our well wishers gave us courage to deal with the situation,” he said. He said he had confidence in police. It is their swift action that brought Akshat back safe.

Police question suspects
The police suspect involvement of 10 people in abduction. Two of them are from Indore and rest from Lalitpur. The police have detained five people including alleged mastermind Santosh. The officials were waiting for Akshat to rest and feel better following which they will seek more details about kidnappers.

How was Akshat found?

Cops posted at Barodia Malthone police outpost in Sagar saw a six-year-old boy loitering around. On inquiring, it was confirmed that the boy was Akshat after which Indore police was informed.

How was he kidnapped?

While playing with his friends on Sunday afternoon, Akshat was abducted by two bike-borne youths from Prime City garden. The kidnappers told Akshat that his grandmother wants to see him. Few minutes later, accused called Akshat’s father Rohit Jain and demanded Rs 10 lakh for his release. The police traced accused with help from CCTV footage and call details of ransom call they made.
