Indore: City police on Sunday arrested a 36-year-old man, who was on-the-run for six months after abducting and raping a minor girl. He was arrested from his residence in the city and is being questioned further. Lasudia police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi said accused Raju Chadel of Niranjanpur Basti had abducted a minor girl from the area six months ago. He had taken the victim to a village in Ashok Nagar district and raped her after holding her captive for two months!
He was harassing the girl and threatened her of dire consequences when she tried to flee. After getting a chance, the victim made a phone call to her mother with the help of a person there. She reported the entire incident to her mother after which she was brought back to the city. Since then, the accused was on-the-run. After several attempts to hunt for him by the cops turned futile, the police announced a reward of Rs 10000 on his arrest. A team was constituted for the arrest of the accused. On Sunday, the accused Raju had come to his residence in Niranjanpur area after which the cop team raided the place and arrested him.
