Indore: Now, West Discom to make panchnamas digitally

Tomar said officials will be given proper training in preparing the panchnama so that they do not face any difficulty in the field while running the app.

Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company, which is promoting digital payments of power bills, has decided to make panchnamas digitally.

For this, an app named NVIS has been created by the engineers of IT section of West Discom.

Not only the panchnama form will be digital, but the signature of the consumer, the electricity officer concerned as well as the witnesses present will also be taken digitally.

West Discom managing director Amit Tomar said that New Vigilance Information System (NVIS) App has been prepared so that transparency in vigilance works is maintained, and all work is done paperless and in digital mode.

“This will speed up the work, lessen chance of mistakes and help in tracking and monitoring of digital panchnama in real time,” he added.

Tomar said officials will be given proper training in preparing the panchnama so that they do not face any difficulty in the field while running the app.

“In this digital, paperless Panchnama, all the information will be digitally recorded, be it the signature of the consumer, officer and witness is concerned,” he added.

The responsibility of operating the new system at the company level has been entrusted upon chief vigilance officer Kailash Shiva, IT section superintendent engineer Sunil Pataudi and Vibhor Patidar.

Vigilance cell of the company makes around 15,000 panchnamas annually. Currently, around 45,000 panchnama cases are pending.
