Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Tuesday issued notices to a Noida based company, which was given contract for chamber tapping, and consultant, a day after a labourer died and two others were hospitalized due to foul gas and stench during chamber cleaning in Banganga area.
The company and the consultant have been asked as to why action should not be taken against them for Monday’s incident. Sufi Kul Islam of West Bengal had climbed down the outfall and fell unconscious due to strong gas presence and two other hospitalised as they tried to save him. It was alleged that the company had not provided the protective kit for chamber cleaning. The IMC had ordered a probe into matter. The action in the case while hinge on the probe report.
