Indore: Rain, hailstorms and snowfall in several parts of northern India brought cold condition back in the city on Thursday after a long interval. The temperature was hovering over 30 degrees Celsius for last few days but on Thursday, it dropped to 24 degrees Celsius which was six degrees Celsius less than the temperature recorded on Wednesday.

City on Thursday recorded maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, which was four degrees below normal, and the minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, two degrees Celsius above normal. Morning and evening humidity was 63 per cent and 68 per cent respectively. Regional meteorological department officials said northerly winds blew in the morning and evening due to which the day temperature dropped.

“The day temperature will remain close to 26 degrees Celsius while the night temperature will decrease more for next few days,” met officials said. Fluctuation in temperature has been frequent for past few days due to frequent change in wind pattern. The temperature is dropping again due to the cold winds coming from north east, they said.
