Indore: Department of higher education has linked college students’ scholarships with All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). In other words, students eligible for scholarships will be able to avail it only when their colleges provide information sought by ministry of human resource development (MHRD) for AISHE.

In a letter to university registrar and college principals, principal secretary (higher education) Neeraj Mandloi said the colleges, which do not provide correct details (for AISHE) and that too within prescribed time limit won’t get grant from Central university.

The letter adds that the deviant colleges will not be able to get accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council and their students would also not be able to avail scholarships, as scholarship portal has been linked to AISHE. “On providing AISHE code, the portal will accept application from college students,” the letter states.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) nodal officer Prof Sumant Katiyal said grant was linked to AISHE two years ago but the decision of NAAC and scholarship are new. “The DHE was forced to take stern steps as the colleges shy away from providing information for AISHE,” he said.

The principal secretray’s letter also states it. The letter states that online link of AISHE was opened on December 3 last year but till date very few colleges have uploaded information for 2018-19. The letter stated that MHRD had expressed disappointment and asked state government to ensure that all colleges meet the deadline of February 20.
