Indore: While it was party, gifts, messages and recognition for mothers on International Mother’s Day on Sunday, an unexpected colour of motherhood was seen in the city. Imagine a mother, who carried the child in her womb with hopes and dreams, abandoning her child near a temple to die.You might wonder, how she could do that… well, it is not new in the world where we expect every child to be born perfect and score 100 per cent.

The newborn was found to be transgender and hence, the reason for child being abandoned by his birth-mother as born ‘not-ideal’ as per expectations. The infant was found wrapped in towel near Baneshwarkund Sunday morning.

Sheetal Nagar resident Suman Kashyap usually reached the temple when she spotted crowd. An infant, who was crying, was found wrapped in a piece of cloth there. Suman immediately took him to MY hospital. Suman told Free Press that she is a medical representative and she reached temple around 8am.

After finding infant, she immediately took the infant to MY Hospital in an auto rickshaw. Later, the police were informed. Suman said that the infant is a transgender and it is believed that her mother or father abandoned her due to the same. She said that being a human, it was my duty to take infant to the hospital immediately as the infant was born a few hours before being found near the pond.

However, the police said that it was still not confirmed that infant was girl or boy. The investigation is underway. A case will be registered against unidentified parents of infant after the investigation. The infant is undergoing treatment in the hospital and condition is stated to be out of danger.
