A woman along with her son was arrested when they were trying to deliver cannabis to someone in Pardeshipura area on Friday. Police also recovered a scooter from her son. The accused youth used to bring cannabis from somewhere and his mother supplied them to customers. Pardeshipura police station in-charge Sudhir Arjariya said that acting on a tip-off, Sudha Sedge of Kulkarni Ka Bhatta was arrested while she was going to deliver cannabis to someone near Bhagirathpura Bridge.
During search, 2.3 kg cannabis were recovered from her and she was booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The police were investigating the case when they received tip-off that Sudha’s son Suresh Sedge was also bringing cannabis from somewhere. After the information, the police team started a search for him and managed to arrest him from near Bhandari Bridge with cannabis of 1.5 kg. Accused Suresh used to bring cannabis from Khargone and supply them with the help of his mother. The accused have been questioned by the police further. Their source of cannabis is also being tracked by the police.
