Indore: Minor among 4 held with 18 stolen 2-wheelers

Indore: With arrest of four persons including a minor, city police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang involved in stealing two-wheeler. In all, 18 vehicles were recovered from them. Two persons were arrested carrying illicit liquor on bikes in Lasudia after which main accused and a minor were arrested. The accused are being questioned.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh Chouhan said a team of Lasudia police station arrested two persons named Ramnath of Mayakhedi and Rajveer Nath of Rupakhedi, Dewas, while they were carrying liquor for supply in Niranjanpur. About 70 litres of illicit liquor were seized from them. They were taken to police station for further investigation.

During questioning, the accused told police that bikes they were riding were stolen by Rahul Verma and Rahul Mohan of Niranjanpur. Accused said Rahul Verma and Rahul Mohan used to steal bikes from parking lots of townships in Lasudia. They used to sell stolen bikes to Arjun of Rupakhedi Dewas for Rs 5,000 to 10,000. The accused told police that Hero CD Down is high in demand as its engine can be used as a machine to prepare sugarcane juice and to make mini electricity generator.

Accused Rahul Verma used to steal bikes from parking lots and supply to Arjun. He used to park stolen vehicles in parking lots of multi-storeyed buildings in Mahalaxmi Nagar and Nipania. Later, he used to sell stolen bikes to Arjun in Dewas. The accused also confessed to supplying illicit liquor on stolen bike in order to hide identity. Police recovered 12 vehicles from the parking lots of multi-storeyed buildings.

Police later arrested Rahul Verma and his minor accomplice. They allegedly confessed to stealing bikes from Vijay Nagar, MIG, Rajendra Nagar and other parts of city. Police have launched a search for accused Arjun. Police said Rahul Mohan is in jail in similar connection.
