Indore: Minister asks doctor to improve facilities in Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital

Indore: Minister of Medical Education Department Vijaylaxmi Sadho expressed her displeasure over the facilities in Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital and directed the Dean of MGM Medical College and superintendent of the hospital to improve the facilities and to work in coordination.

Reviewing the facilities in MGM Medical College and its associated hospitals, Sadho asked superintendent Dr PS Thakur about deficiency of medicines in the hospital and said that he should check the purchasing done. On excusing that purchasing was done during the tenure of last superintendent, Sadho told Dr Thakur that he is on the post and he is responsible now.

The medical education minister also took the account of faculty members and seats in the college while Dean Dr Jyoti Bindal gave a presentation about undergoing projects of MGM Medical College including the Super Speciality Centre. According to sources, Sadho also expressed her concern over central purchasing and asked the college administration to prepare a plan to get separate central purchasing from the health department. On the demand of medical teachers to give seventh pay commission, Sadho said, “I will talk to the chief minister for the same and the problem of medical teachers will be solved soon.”

Transferred faculties meet Sadho

Faculty members who were transferred to other medical colleges due to MCI inspection met Sadho and appealed to her for revoking their transfer orders. The doctors told minister that they were already been counted by MCI in MGM Medical College and they will not be counted again in any other college by the apex medical regulatory.
