Indore: A review meeting on city’s water supply and drinking water distribution was held here recently. Mayor and Indore-4 MLA Malini Gaud presided over the meeting, which was attended by municipal commissioner Asheesh Singh, water works committee incharge Balram Verma along with other officials. The officials said additional supply of 45 MLD water is sufficient to meet needs of people. Water tankers are being sent to places where there is acute water shortage due to receding ground water level. The water tankers are fitted with GPS to monitor their locations at all times.
Mayor asked officials to register FIR if they find any non-contractual tanker operator fills water through hydrants. Commissioner Singh said water shortage problem was less severe compared to last year as adequate water supply was ensured at all locations.
