Indore: Leader of Opposition in Indore Municipal Corporation Fozia Sheikh on Wednesday alleged that mayor Malini Gaud loves to take credit for the work, which others did. She said mayor did nothing to make Indore as India’s cleanest city. She also alleged large-scale corruption in Indore Municipal Corporation over which mayor maintained silence. “Corporators of all 85 wards, IMC officers, sanitation workers and people of Indore should get credit for maintaining Indore as country’s cleanest city for third consecutive year. But mayor wants to take credit for this solely,” she said.
According to Fozia Sheikh, the garbage of trenching ground was not removed or converted into compost but was buried under the soil. “Indore Municipal Corporation has spent Rs 8 crore in burying the garbage under the soil. They have no answer where the metal, clothes, shoes and other things from the garbage went,” she said adding, “Large-scale corruption has taken place in the construction of toilets, new paver blocks and road dividers and providing smart watch to employees.”
