Indore: Panic like situation prevailed when a beheaded body of a man was found near the railway track near Bhandari Bridge on Saturday. Police believed that he may have jumped before the train when his head had crushed in the accident. However, the autopsy report is being awaited to know the exact reason of his death.
Government Railway Police station in-charge Gayatri Soni said the incident took place on the tracks between Bhandari Bridge and Laxmibai Nagar. The beheaded body was spotted by some people around 7.30 am and the police were informed. “The man was killed after being hit by the train. His head was crushed in the accident,” Soni said.
It is presumed that he committed suicide by jumping before the train. The head was missing till late on Saturday. Investigating officer ASI JP Tiwari said the deceased was identified as Ashok of Guna. His parents have been informed and they will identify him after reaching city on Sunday. Police searched for the head for hours but in vain. They believed that it may have been consumed by an animal or may have stuck in the gap of train coaches. However, the further investigation is underway.
