Police arrested a man and his son for killing elder son in Banganga area on Tuesday. The duo first thrashed elder son when he asked money and later strangled him to death, the police said. Banganga police station incharge Indramani Tripathi said deceased Dharmendra Chouhan (26) of Nandbagh Colony was rushed to a hospital by his brother Jitendra on Monday. But doctors declared him dead after check-up.
Jitendra tried to mislead the doctor saying that Dharmendra was ill and he had rushed him to the hospital. Suspecting some foul play, police sent the body for autopsy and started investigation. The autopsy report confirmed that Dharmendra was died of strangulation.
During investigation police gathered information from the neighbors about the incident. Statement of Dharmendra’s wife Tanu was also recorded. She told police that Dharmendra had asked money from his father Ramkaran for liquor and they had an argument over the issue. Ramkaran and his younger son Jitendra thrashed him on Sunday night. She further stated that Jitendra had strangled Dharmendra on his father’s instruction after which he fell unconscious. When he died, they rushed him to the hospital.
