A man was arrested by the police with brown sugar in Hira Nagar area on Tuesday. The accused is being questioned further.
Acting on tip-off, a team from Hira Nagar police station reached Chandragupta Square and detained a suspect while he was roaming in the area. Brown sugar weighing 25 grams was also recovered from him.
Police said accused has been identified as Koushal Koshti, a resident of Pardeshipura. During search, a packet containing brown sugar was also recovered from him. The brown sugar recovered from him is worth Rs 1.5 lakh in the international market.
During investigation it was found that Koushal is a criminal and he was earlier booked by Pardeshipura, Lasudia, Rajendra Nagar, Aerodrome and MG Road police for his involvement in crimes in the city. He is being questioned about the drugs suppliers in the city.
