Indore: Narcotics wing of police arrested a person and recovered 21 kilograms of cannabis from his possession on Sunday. The seized cannabis is worth Rs 1.47 lakh. The accused was waiting to deliver the consignment when he was nabbed by the team. The person to whom he was going to deliver the cannabis is also being searched.
On the instruction of Inspector General of Police (Narcotics) GG Pandey, Superintendent of Police (narcotics) Manohar Singh Mandloi has constituted a team to trace people involved in supplying or deliver drugs in the city. The team started working on the instruction when constable Brijesh Singh and Anil Rathore received information that a person named Kurban alias Firoz Khan of Green Park Colony will supply cannabis to a supplier in Lebad area.
After the information, team reached the mentioned place where suspect was spotted with two bags containing cannabis. Team detained him and recovered around 21 kilograms cannabis from two bags from him. Narcotic wing booked the accused under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act and started an investigation. According to information, wing had recovered 142 kilograms of cannabis from suppliers in 2018. It seized 278 kilograms this year. The teams are active in tracing the other suppliers of drugs in the city and other districts.
