Indore: The fate of more than 52 applicants on the post 49 assistant professors in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College hinges on Election Commission as state medical education department has sought permission to conduct interviews for the post. MGM Medical College dean Dr Jyoti Bindal said the department has sent letter to Election Commission to seek permission to conduct interviews on post of assistant professors and other positions. She said college will take action as per department’s directive.
The department has mentioned in the letter that candidates for interview were shortlisted earlier and even interviews were postponed once due to inspection visit of Medical Council of India. Interviews of posts were scheduled on March 11 but model code of conduct was imposed on March 10.
