Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man was arrested for duping about 128 unemployed people on the pretext of providing government jobs, police said on Saturday. Transaction of Rs 1.7 crore was found in the bank accounts of the accused. He had given training to the unemployed people in a resort to gain their trust.
According to DCP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, a person had lodged a complaint with the crime branch that the accused Anil Rasenia, a resident of Shalimar Palm had taken money from him to provide a government job a promise he failed to deliver. After receiving a complaint, a team was constituted for the arrest of the accused.
The crime branch officials gathered information about the accused and he was caught from his place. He allegedly informed the police that he had taken money from many unemployed youths on the pretext of providing jobs to them in the Women and Child Development Department. He had also provided fake appointment letters to them.
He confessed to have duped 128 people. Transactions of Rs 1.7 crore were found in his five bank accounts. He had taken money from people on the pretext of providing the jobs of project coordinator, computer operator and community mobilizers in the department.
A case was registered under sections 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2) of BNS and further investigation is on into the case. Efforts are being made to recover money from him as well. Police said that the accused along with his accomplices had prepared fake mark sheets of PGDCA. He was also involved in a murder case of Balwara in Khargone district.
