Indore: A day after conducting raids on premises of a woman assistant commercial tax officer and unearthing assets worth crores of rupees, Lokayukta police on Wednesday wrote letters to Enforcement Directorate, income tax and other departments informing them about her property details. Lokayukta DSP Santosh Singh Bhadoria said letters have been sent to ED and income tax department to inform them about property details of assistant commercial tax officer Komal Bali. “We suspect manipulations on a large scale. We also wrote letter to commercial tax department requesting to remove Bali as her assets were found to be disproportionate to her known sources of income.”
Bhadoria also stated that they have written letters to banks seeking accounts and locker details. Lokayukta police, which had received a complaint regarding Bali amassing property through legal means, conducted recce of Bali’s house and office and then conducted raids on Tuesday. Assets worth Rs 1.41 crore were found from her houses. Lokayukta police said Bali’s husband Ashok, who is also a BJP leader, used to do petty works for living. He then became a property broker. Sources said Balis had plan to run a hostel on a building constructed on 2,400-square feet of plot.
