Indore: Indian Institute of Management Indore director Prof Himanshu Rai on Sunday said people should not think much about milestones. “Life is not about milestones but it is about what’s happening with you between the milestones. So one should live happily thinking less about milestones,” he said while addressing a conference organised at a private college here. Advising students present at the conference, he said that for happiness they should not be afraid to dream as they don’t owe anything to anyone except themselves. “What comes in the way of your happiness is fear of failure.
Failure is not fatal and success is not final. So don’t think much about failure and success. Situation would not be as bad as you think but it’s not going to be as good as you hope. So deal with it with equanimity.” He also asked students to avoid toxic people in life. “Toxicity worsens your performance. Stop reacting to unimportant and toxic people; they never help you in making you grow.
To lead an independent and fruitful life, you should develop your fortitude,” he said. In his address, Sri Aurobindo Aashram spiritual speaker Sraddhalu Ranade said, “Current education system is designed like a factory where students are the raw material. What comes out of this system is a manufactured product. You become an engineer, a doctor, or a manger except for artists. You can’t manufacture artists.”
Pithadia Foundation’s Dilip K Pithadia said, “Few blinders have penetrated in our society and families and they are anger, ego, greed, and illusion. We lose respect because of these blinders. Every class is adversely affected and so is their prosperity and happiness.”
