Indore: City police on Thursday arrested liquor contractor Vijay Shrivastav, who was on the run in connection with Rs 42 crore revenue scam of excise department, from Lucknow. He was hiding there since few months. Deputy Inspector General of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra said Raoji Bazaar police station staff had registered a case against more than a dozen liquor contractors and their employees a year ago.
Many of them were arrested earlier while Shrivastav was being searched. A reward of Rs 20,000 was also announced on him after many efforts to arrest him earlier. Acting on a tip-off, a team reached Lucknow and raided a house where Shrivastav was staying on rent and arrested. He is being taken to city for further action.
