A man and two children were killed while a woman was severely injured after being struck by lightning in Hatod Police Station area on Tuesday evening. The incident took place near Jambudi Sarvar Village at about 4pm when Sodan Singh Dholi (45), resident of Dansari Village, was returning with his family from a marriage function in Pal Kankariya Village.
Sodan and his family, including daughter Muskan (10) and Niranjan (12), and his wife Anita (40) took shelter under a tree to save themselves from heavy rains and thunder storm. A few minutes after they halted, lighting struck the tree in which Sodan, Muskan and Niranjan die d on the spot while Anita was severely injured. Local residents rushed them to a primary health centre in Hatod where Anita was admitted for treatment. Later she was referred to MY Hospital in Indore. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post mortem.
