Indore: A team of food and drug administration department led by SDM Anshul Gupta on Thursday raided factories that manufacture potato chips in Kodariya village and found the production process to be unhygienic. The village is located in Mhow tehsil.
During raid, the officials were shocked to see potato chips being made in open in violation of food safety norm. The administrative officials have dashed off a letter to Kodariya village sarpanch to gather owners and employees of the factories for training by FDA.
“Much to our surprise, we found more than 100 such factories running there,” chief food safety officer Manish Swami said.He said distance between factories are long due to sarpanch has been asked to gather every employee and owner of factories for training. “We have decided to train and educate them about food safety norms in March. We will act against them if they fail to follow food safety norms after training,” he added.
