Indore : Owing to festival season, the railways will start two holiday special super fast trains from the city for Kochuveli (Kerela) and Sialdah in West Bangal from October 13 and Oct 11 respectively for a month. However, it’s also said that the train to Kochuveli would be converted into a regular train after the end of special run train.

Due to increasing pressure from passengers and also fulfilling the demand of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the Ratlam Division is going to start Holiday special super fast trains from the city for these two cities.

According to sources, Indore-Kochuveli will start its run from October 13 to November 17 on Tuesdays while the train for Sualdah will run from October 11 to November 15 on Sundays.

Sources further said that its running time will be kept as per the existing schedule: It will run on Tuesdays at 8.30pm from Indore and will reach Madgoan on Wednesday at 9.30pm and Kochuveli on Thursday at 7.15am. The train will have stoppages at Dewas, Ujjain, Nagda, Ratlam, Dahod, Vadodra, Surat, Vapi, Boisar, Vasai Road, Panwel, Roha, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kanvankli, Dhivim, Madgaon, Mangalore, Kunnur, Kozhikode and Allepy. It will have one II AC, three III AC, 7 sleeper and 4 general coaches. The Indore-Kochuveli train is plying since April 14 with different names. Initially it ran from April 14 to June 26 as a summer special train and later from August to September 17 as weekly special train and it will run from October 13 to November 17 as a holiday special.

However, sources said that the train will get regular run as soon as two platforms at Bal Vinay Mandir come up before November.

It may be recalled that on August 27 during the DRUCC meeting, DRM Manoj Sharma said that the proposal for regular run of Indore-Kochuveli was sent to the Railway Board and they were waiting for the response of the apex decision making body.
