Passenger bus jumped divider and hit car in another lane on the road

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An interior designer and her daughter were injured after a bus jumped the divider and hit their car in another lane on Bypass Road on Tuesday evening. The speed of the bus was so high that it badly damaged the side portion of the car and rammed into the divider of the service lane. The police were not sure whether the passengers of the bus got injured in the accident.

According to the police, 47-year-old Himanshi Pandit, a resident of DLF Township on Bypass Road was on her way to her father’s house in Mahalaxmi Nagar with her daughter, Dhruvika. When they reached near Arandiya village, a bus travelling to Dewas from the city jumped the divider and hit their car. Himanshi was driving the car, so she got critically injured.

Policeman Bhupendra Sunhare from Lasudia police station reached the spot after learning of the incident. Bhupendra told the Free Press that a portion of the car was damaged after the but hit it. After hitting the car, the bus rammed into the divider of the service lane. The bus driver was missing when the police reached the spot.

Himanshi is an interior designer and she was going to meet her father in Mahalaxmi Nagar. In the accident, her daughter sustained minor injuries, Sunhare added. The police are investigating the case to know the exact circumstances under which the accident happened. It was believed that the brake of the bus failed or its steering wheel got jammed due to which the bus driver lost control and hit the car in another lane after jumping the divider. The woman is undergoing treatment at a city hospital and the police are trying to take down her statement.
