Indore: In the category of districts with more than two million population, Indore has emerged on top by registering highest number of votes. Indore district recorded 70 percent polling in Lok Sabha elections held on Sunday. Kolkata stood second with 67.87% polling while Ahmadabad with 60.85% polling came on third position. Neha Meena, district panchayat CEO and nodal officer of Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Practices (SVEEP), told mediapersons on Wednesday that on the basis of voting percentage of districts having more than two million population, EC prepared a list. In this list, Indore district stood at the first position with highest voting turnout of 69.66 percent. The results show that urban apathy turned to urban wave. This time, 7.29% more voting was registered in the district. It was 62.37% in 2014 elections.
