Concerned over the patients’ inconvenience in the biggest government-run medical facility of the state MY Hospital for treadmill test, Parpida Har NGO has donated Rs 11,000 to get the machine repaired on Tuesday. The NGO had donated money to get one of the four machines of the hospital started so that the patients receive the facility. However, the hospital administration had forgot to act over the same just after dashing off a letter to the maintenance company.
The number of patients awaiting test on machines was increasing everyday as only one out of four machines is working. Hospital sources said three machines are lying defunct for last one month. “Two machines are old while parts of one machine were installed in other. Hospital takes six patients for TMT test in a day,” sources said. The cost of TMT test in MY Hospital is Rs 350 but private hospitals charge any amount between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for same test.
Meanwhile, Dean of MGM Medical College Dr Jyoti Bindal thanked the NGO to provide help in getting the machine started. “I am going to change the process of maintenance soon and will fix the responsibility of the concerned person in such cases. I thank the NGO for supporting in facilitating patients,” Dr Bindal said.
