Indore: In order to curb the incidents of theft and counterfeiting in Indore, Inspector General of Police, Indore zone Vivek Sharma and Deputy Inspector General of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra instructed all the police stations in the city to take effective action for prevention of the said incidents and seizing the charges.

In this order, police team from Hiranagar police station nabbed a gang that steals two-wheelers, along with 15 two-wheelers worth about Rs 8 lakh.

On Friday night, the police team of Hiranagar police station at Bapat Chauraha, during vehicle check-up, saw two youths on an Activa and three youths on a motorcycle coming from Meghdoot Nagar. The youth, when saw the police at the checkpoint, tried to flee, reacting to which the police immediately nabbed them.

During the investigation, the police came to know that the accused Akash alias Bhuri, Mahendra, Jatin, Shiva alias Harsh, and Mazhar have stolen 15 two-wheelers till date, which were all seized by the police. The cost of the seized vehicles is about Rs 8 lakh.

As per the police officials, accused Aakash, Shiva and Jatin used to steal the vehicle, and then Mahendra used to sell them in Indore and Mazhar in Ujjain.

Among the vehicles recovered from the accused, nine vehicles have been stolen from the police station of Indore including Hiranagar, Lasudia, Tilaknagar and other police stations and 06 vehicles have been stolen from different police station areas of Ujjain. The ownership address of the recovered vehicles is being picked up and the concerned thana is being contacted. Information about any former criminal record of the accused is being obtained.

Under the guidance of senior officers in the said proceedings, Soni Dinesh Awasya of Hiranagar police station, PR Rakesh Chauhan, R Jitendra Goyal, R Omprakash, R Jitendra Mandloi, R Rivipal, RK Manoj Patel, RB Vishal Jadoun, R Vinod Patel, and R Mahendra Singh played commendable roles.
