Indore: Gupt Navratri from July 11

Indore: Gupt Navratri will begin with the installation of Kalash on Sunday, July 11. During Gupt Navratri, devotees will worship alike other Navratris.

This time due to the decay of Shashti Tithi in Navratri, there will be a secret Navratri of eight days. Astrologer Acharya Sharma Vedik told that the auspicious time of Ghat Establishment and Amrit Choghadiya will start from 9:08 in the morning till 12:32 pm.

Maa Durga would be worshiped every morning and evening after Ghat establishment. On the day of Ashtami or Navami, Navratri fasting concludes with ‘kanya puja’.

“Before starting Durga Puja in Gupt Navratri, there is a law to establish a Kalash,” Khajrana temple priest Ashok Bhatt said.

He explained that this is done so that the worship of Maa Durga is accomplished efficiently without any hindrance and the mother maintains her grace. “After the installation of the Kalash, a special adoration of ‘Stree Roop’ or the powerful female form Maa Durga would be prepared.

He added that the use of red colour is essential in decorations and clothing. “Then on the left side of the goddess, as per rituals, one should install lord Ganesha idol,” Bhatt said.

A lot of devotees will light the Akhand Jyoti, i.e. an earthen lamp which should keep burning for the whole nine days.
