Indore: Indore witnessed its first Insta Meet at Hotel Radisson Blu on Sunday. Planned by Instagram community and curated by Aakash Ranison, the meet focused on topics like taking travelling from passion to profession, phone photography and making the best use of Instagram. The ‘invite only’ event was attended by around 100 instagrammers from literary, music, travel, media and other backgrounds.
Sharing his aim behind holding this event Aakash said, “We wanted to offer a platform to Indoreans where they could engage with people working in similar field irrespective of their number of followers.” Our focus was to give a direction to the already talented lot who had trouble comprehending Instagram policies, he added. Aakash wished to create an engaging event where newbies would get first-hand-experience in a fun way.
Busting myths which ensured HD picture quality with DSLRs alone, senior photographer Tanveer Farooqui said, “Your device is a medium to express feelings and unless you understand its working, no expensive gadget can come to your aid.” Tanveer also impressed upon the idea of observing things as much as possible.
Talking about the session, participant Raghuraj Singh said, “I got some handy tips from the expert to keep a check on posting irrelevant content.” Student Aayush Saraogi shares, “Interactive session gave an insight into capturing multitudes of crowd in one frame.”
Ananya Singhal from Wittyfeed shared tips to summarise content in a way that it speaks at length in fewer words. “People do not have time to go through lengthy articles, hence it becomes essential to make your content short and crisp,” Ananya mentioned.
Emphasising on the significance of correct grammar usage, blogger Shravni Mirikar said, “People will relate to you, if your diction is appropriate.”
Talking about the surging negativity on social media, she further said, “It is better to keep negative opinions to yourself instead of posting sexist remarks and making the other person feel demotivated.” Avoid plagiarism and follow positive accounts to improve the quality of your thoughts and writing.
“The best time to engage with more people is to upload a picture between 7 and 9 pm,” shares wedding photographer Jamil Ansari. Your profile name is crucial to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for it shows at the top in search engine whenever anyone looks for a specific term, he added. According to him, another important factor which gives one more crowd is engagement groups.
“I made my friends pose as models during initial days, added various filters but eventually learned that processing won’t work unless the raw image is not good enough.”
“I wanted guidance to help me create a better profile where I can communicate my stories to the right audience.”
