Indore: Hurdles of establishing Virology Lab in Indore will be cleared soon as the Chief Minister Kamal Nath too has announced to establish the lab soon in Indore, on Thursday. He has also assured that the government will put the issue in the next cabinet meeting and will ensure to get the work started soon.
Health Minister Tulsi Silawat also expressed concern over the increasing number of swine flu patients in the state and directed the health officials to cancel the license of those hospitals who denied treating swine flu patients.
At present, the swab samples of the patients are sent to All India Institute of Medical Science, Bhopal or to the lab in Jabalpur which take over 5-6 days to get the sample reports tested. Earlier, the previous government had assured to establish the lab in Indore in 2017 but it couldn’t come on ground reality till date.
As many as 282 samples have been sent for testing from Indore since January 1, this year, out of which 29 sample reports are pending and 38 sample reports are tested positive. As many as 14 patients succumbed to the disease.
