Indore: A government teacher posted in Dewas was killed after a recklessly driven dumper truck hit him in Khudel on Monday night. He was returning home from Dewas when the accident happened. The police have registered a case against errant truck driver and started a search for him.
According to Khudel police station staff, the deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Devi Prasad, a resident of Bhicholi Mardana. He was a government teacher and was posted in Devnaliya village in Dewas district. On Monday night, he was returning home from teaching job when a truck coming from opposite side hit his bike in Nachanmor Ghat area, which left him injured.
He was rushed to hospital by the passersby who also informed the police. Sources claimed that the truck driver who fled was later detained by the police. A case under has been registered by police and investigation is on. Two killed in road accident In another incident, two persons were killed after they were hit by a speeding mini truck in Kshipra area on Monday noon. The police have recovered mini truck and registered a case against errant driver.
Police said deceased identified as 23-year-old Happy Singh and 24-year-old Vijay Keer were returning home on a bike when they were hit by a mini truck near Shanti Nagar on Sanwer-Mangliya Road at 2 pm. They were rushed to the hospital where they died during treatment. The driver of truck managed to flee from the spot after the incident. The police are trying to trace him on the basis of his truck number.
Elderly woman dies in accident An elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a vehicle on Khandwa Road. She could not be identified till Tuesday night. Simrol police said woman aged between 60 to 65 years was found injured in Bherughat on Monday night. She was rushed to hospital but she could not be saved. The police have sent the body for autopsy and started investigation. It is being said that she was hit by a vehicle while she was crossing the road.
