Indore: Government on swift mode to recruit doctors

Indore: Concerned over scarcity of doctors in government health institutions across the state, Minister of Health Tulsi Silawat intervened to fulfil the vacancies of doctors and directed officials to recruit them through Public Service Commission. Acting on the same, Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has also released an advertisement for the recruitment on 1065 backlog vacancies of doctors on Friday.

As per the orders, MPPSC will accept online applications for the posts from February 21 to March 5. Applicants will have to go through entrance examination and later interviews will be done for final recruitment. “We are concerned over lack of doctors in the health institutions across the state. I have directed the officials to take immediate action to fill the vacant position so that patients will get better treatment in the hospitals,” Tulsi Silawat said.

The minister added that initially they will recruit doctors on backlog vacancies and will take action for more recruitment after Lok Sabha election. According to sources, government wants to initiate the step for recruitment before the Model Code of Conduct for upcoming Lok Sabha elections imposed.

CMHO will be responsible on deficiency of medicines

Irate by the complaints of lack of medicines in health centres, Silawat on Saturday announced that Chief Medical and Health Officer and Civil Surgeons of the district will be responsible for the same. He said that he has been receiving complaints of lack of medicines at health centres and now has decided to fix the responsibility of the same.

“Now, CMHOs and Civil Surgeons will be responsible for the same and action would be taken against them,” he added. Meanwhile, the minister has also ordered PWD officials to complete the work of centralised oxygen line in government PC Sethi Hospital at the earliest. He also ordered them to establish PICU unit to facilitate newborn children.
