Indore: Gold worth Rs 33 lakh seized from railway station

Indore: Government Railway Police (GRP) here got major success on Monday when it recovered one kilogram of gold worth Rs 33 lakh from passengers from the railway station.  GRP thana incharge Gayatri Anand said railway police checked a passenger at platform number one on suspicion. He was asked to open the bag. GRP team was surprised to find one kilogram of gold whose market value is Rs 33 lakh.

Anand said man had purchased gold from the city and was taking it to his home town Vidisha where he runs jewellery shop. He was asked to produce the bill of the allegedly purchased gold but he could not produce it. The accused has been detained. The railway police have handed over the case along with recovered gold to investigation wing of income tax department, Indore.
