Indore: From Tuesday evening, when you will return to city by flight, a robot will greet you, welcome in arrival area at the city airport. The robot will also guide you whom to contact in case you lose your baggage. Airport director Aryama Sanyal said robot will work on sensors. Initially, it will be kept static. It will be made mobile later as passengers need guidance about facilities available at airport.
In case of complaints, robot will help the passengers by playing the recorded messages of telephone numbers of ATM. Keshav Sharma, regional executive director of Airport Authority of India (AAI), will dedicate the services of robot. The robot, developed by students of Acropolis Engineering College, is a joint venture of college and AAI.
3-day workshop
For the first time, the AAI is holding three-day workshop of Western India Regional Airports in the city, which will start from Tuesday. About 50 officials including more than 20 airport directors of western India, AAI and vigilance department officials will participate. They will deliberate on ways of improving passenger services and vigilance at the airports.
Exhibition of Bapu’s stamps
As homage to Father of Nation, a three-day exhibition of rare stamps on Gandhiji will be inaugurated on Wednesday. The exhibition has been organised by Malwa Philatalic Society, AAI and postal department. It will be inaugurated by Keshav Sharma, AAI regional manager in presence of Post Master General of Indore region. The members of Philatelic Society at Gandhi corner will guide passengers about rare photographs including Gandhiji’s visit to Cipla unit on July 4, 1939.
