Several gallons of water flowed on road in front of MY Hospital when a JCB machine during road widening work damaged a Narmada pipeline. The road converted into river even as areas connected to pipeline faced water crisis. As a result, supply could not be made to houses. In the morning, a road widening project was on when a JCB machine mistakenly damaged 225 MM pipeline. Water gushed out of the damaged pipeline and flowed on road even as Indore Municipal Corporation officials passing through the area did not act swiftly.
The supply of water in areas including Mumari Mohalla, Chhawani, Chhawani Mandi and other areas located near MY Hospital was hit. Narmada project executive engineer Sanjeev Shrivastava stated that their team is repairing the pipeline. “It is expected that the line would be repaired by late evening,” he added.
